Onduparaka’s away record doesn’t favor them that much as they visit Vipers at St Mary’s Kitende in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
They are not very good travelers, only three wins in seven away games this season, lost three and drawn one, however Vipers have a good record at home, they have won four of their outings, drawn the other two.
In the four meetings, third placed Onduparaka have only managed one win against the holders which was the 1-0 victory in the side’s first meeting in Arua two seasons ago.
Onduparaka’s last two visits at Kitende have been convincing wins for yet to lose a game Vipers, they won 4-1 and 2-0 in the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 seasons respectively.
It will be hard for Onduparaka to cause a new year shock but head Coach Simeone Masaba believes that his team is ready enough to grab maximum points.
“It’s a tough game because they have got a new coach,” Masaba said before adding. “They changed the coach but they didn’t change the players, and it will depend on the way we are prepared for tomorrow’s game.”
“We are ready for the game because it’s a big game and we are aiming at getting positive results depending on the way we approach the game,” he added.
Golola starts his tenure as the head coach at Vipers in his third stint, Vipers have drawn their last two games against Tooro United and Bright Stars, both barren draws.
He will be expected to have an instant impact on the team especially since he is no stranger to majority of the players.
The Venoms are currently second with 26 points on a 16 team log, seven points below the table leaders KCCA FC from 12 outings however with two games at hand.
