Onduparaka pick first point off Bright Stars from Mwererwe

Onduparaka has finally picked a point from the Champions Stadium after their one all draw with Bright Stars FC in their second round opener of the Start Times Uganda Premier League. 

Bright Stars skipper Nelson Senkatuka ended his goal drought with a 20 yard strike off an Alfred Onek well laid ball.

The move forced Onduparaka custodian Nicholas Sebwato dive for no reason thus sending the hosts into celebrations early in the 18th minute of the game.  

The first half saw numerous chances from both sides amidst keeping defenders on their toes as both teams tried find a breakthrough.

By half time, the home fans had reasons to smile as their team went for a break with a goal on its account and the visitors had nothing to show.  

As the second stanza kicked off, Onduparaka interim coach Simeon Masaba introduced attacker Jamal Malish for Oscar Agaba to help bring his team back in the game.  

Onduparaka’s moment of joy came in the 55th minute when towering center back Rashid Toha headed home Caeser Okhuti’s corner.

Bright Stars Coach Fred Kajoba introduce forward Brian Kayanja for Henry Kiwanuka in the 66th minute,   Moses Okot and Methodius Jungu came on for Dan Birikwalira and Alfred Onek respectively in a bid to hunt for more goals.  

The substitutions however, yielded no fruits as the teams shared spoils with a goal each.  From the three visits at the Champions Stadium, Onduparaka has lost two and only managed to draw once.

With 21 points, Bright Stars are eighth while Onduparaka are sixth with four points better than their visitors.
