Uganda Cranes captain and Mamelodi Sundowns first choice goalkeeper Denis Onyango will not be a part of their Absa Premiership clash against Golden Arrows on Monday due to Injury.

Africa’s number one who featured in the 2-2 draw against Cape Town City is nursing a quad injury and won’t be available for selection.

A quadricep muscle strain injury results from an acute tearing injury of the quadriceps which usually is due to an acute stretch of the muscle.

Onyango’s absence is a big blow to the Brazilians as Sundowns aim to cut the six-point gap created by table leaders Kaizer Chiefs.

The Pheni Boys failed to capitalize and open up a seven-point gap following their 1-1 draw against Stellenbosch FC on Sunday evening.

Pitso Mosimane and his charges are looking for their first league win post COVID after failing to win in the last three games.

Zambian international Kennedy Mwene will be expected to start in goal for Masandawana. A win for Sundowns will take the nine-time league winners to 50 points, three behind Cheifs before the two meet on August 27.
