Uganda Cranes captain and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango is set to return from a long knee injury layoff ahead of the big clash against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday evening at the FNB stadium.
The 33 year old picked up the injury on 1st Dec when Sundowns played Supersport in the Tswane derby and has been out since then.
However, his return to the squad is such a huge boost for head coach Pitso Mosimane when the ABSA Premiership second round resumes on Saturday.
Kaizer Chiefs who sit sixth on 21 points, one behind Sundowns who are looking for a third straight league win in the league.
Sundowns have managed to book a spot in the group stages of the 2018/2019 Total CAF Champions League for a 4th straight time.
On the other hand, Chiefs are 180 minutes away from making the group stages of the 2018/2018 Total CAF Confederation Cup.
Meanwhile, Onyango’s compatriot Godfrey Walusimbi is expected to make his bow in this clash which comes second after the Soweto Derby in terms of viewership.
