Uganda Cranes midfielder Allan Okello completed a switch back to boyhood club, KCCA FC on a season-long loan from parent side, AC Paradou.

The shocking news was welcomed by the entire ‘Kasasiro’ faithful, as at the time of his departure in 2020, he had become their most important player.

The development was received with even more delight from the club’s CEO, Anisha Muhoozi, who couldn’t turn down an offer of a recapture.

“We are honoured to have Okello back. When an option came to have him return on loan, we were more than welcome to have him back,” Muhoozi told Football256.

The 22 year-old left Lugogo for the Algerian outfit, but it hasn’t quite worked out for him, struggling for game time.

At KCCA, he is expected to have more minutes as he embarks on having his career back on track.

“It’s obvious that Allan has not been having a lot of play-time as we had expected or anticipated as he went to Algeria,” noted Muhoozi in an honest assessment.

“He is a very special unit of KCCA and it’s no secret that everyone loves and adores Allan. Seeing him back in the league, he will be a joy to watch.”

At the time of his KCCA exit more than two years ago, he had accumulated 112 appearances, scoring 39 times.

Okello’s numbers at Paradou are however not documented, another clear show of the struggles he had in North Africa.

He is now the 11th KCCA signing in the summer transfer window after, Haruna Lukwago, Daniel Isiagi, Mujuzi Mustafa and Muhammad Shaban.

They’ve also secured the services of Tshisungu Kankonde, Moses Waiswa, Muhamed Ssenoga, Faisal Wabyoona, Saidi Mayanja and Allan Enyou.

The Club will begin their 2022/23 campaign off with a tie against Wakiso Giants FC on October 1 at Lugogo.
