Vipers SC head coach Michael Nam Ouma acknowledged the way Maroons played against his side at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende on Wednesday.

Vipers defeated Maroons 2-0 in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with goals coming from Tom Masiko and Brian Nkuubi.

“It was a good game, we are the winners but Maroons played very well, they attacked us more in the second half,” Ouma said in the post-match press conference.

“My players did a very good job, we dominated the first half and they dominated the second half and that’s the game.”

“Tembo (Ibrahim) did his part well, he fitted well in the midfield yet he is not a typical midfielder and even Ibrahim Kiyemba played well,” he added.

Vipers were awarded a penalty in the 41st minute after it looked like Aziz Kayongo had gone down easily, a push by Sylvester Okello, Masiko converted after protests from maroons that last about five minutes. The Kenyan tactician insists it’s the referee in charge of everything happening in the game.

“The referee knows better than everyone what happens at the pitch, I can’t say it was controversial because I was far away from the scene but the referee was nearer to the scene,” he noted.

He is also confident that his side will get something when they visit KCCA FC at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo on April 4th, in the top of the table clash.

“We are not worried against KCCA, we are prepared for them because we plan for each game differently,” he noted.

Vipers are second on the 16 team log with 48 points from 24 outings while Maroons remained on 25 points, five points away from the relegation danger.
