Makerere University Business School (MUBS) had a 100% run in the group stages of the 2022 Pepsi University Football League and, along with seven others, they await the quarterfinal draw.
The remaining eight teams in this year’s UFL will be drawn against each other on Monday, September 5.
MUBS, Uganda Christian University, St. Lawrence University, Uganda Martyrs University, Kyambogo University, Nkumba University, Bugema University, and Kampala University will know their fate next week.
MUBS, UCU, SLAU, and UMU, have been placed in Pot A while Nkumba, Bugema, KU, and Kyambogo are in Pot B of the draw.
The quarterfinals will be played between September 12th and October 7th, 2022.
How the eight teams reached the quarterfinals
UCU finished top of Group A with 13 points, MUBS led processing in Group B with maximum points, 18, Kyambogo won Group C with seven points while SLAU took the number one spot in Group D with 11 points.
UMU gathered 12 points on top of Group E and Bugema also finished at the top of Group F with seven points.
Nkumba and KU were the two best second-placed teams having collected 12 and 10 points from Group B and E respectively.
Six of the eight teams in this year’s quarterfinals have won the UFL previously. MUBS twice, UMU, Kyambogo, KU, and UCU have won it once apiece.
The latter is the defending champion having won it in 2019 the last time the tournament was held.
