A semifinal slot in the 2022 Pepsi University League will be at stake when Uganda Martyrs University host Bugema University in the second leg of the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
The first leg ended 1-1 in Bugema and UMU’s head coach Eric Kisuze is confident that playing at home in the second leg will play to his side’s advantage.
“We are looking forward to hosting Bugema and finishing the job at home,” Kisuze said ahead of the game before adding.
“It was not easy getting a draw away to Bugema because they are a very strong team with a very a good coach, it is important we also managed an away goal.”
“It will not be an easy game and anything can happen. But we are going to give it our best and I believe we shall win,” he added.
From the group stages, UMU won all three games that they played in their backyard in Nkozi.
On the other hand, Bugema head coach Medhi Nyanzi has also vowed that they will give it all to try and win to advance to the semifinals.
It’s only St. Lawrence University that has earned a spot in the semifinals after beating Kampala University 5-1 on aggregate in the quarterfinals.
