Express FC find themselves in quite a similar situation with their hosts on Tuesday in the Star Times Uganda Premier League.

Both sides have won two games and drawn one a piece although Express have played two more games compared to Kyetume’s five.

They are level on points tally with champions KCCA FC, and Busoga United. Kyetume lie 11th on the log, just above their visitors because of a superior goal difference.

Ahead of the tie at Mandela National Stadium, Express are coming off a thrilling 5-3 win over Police FC at the Betway Mutessa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Friday.

Kyetume who had last tasted victory on the opening day of the season with a 1-0 win over SC Villa defied odds when they visited Tooro United and left with a convincing 2-0 win. And head coach George Best Nsimbe thinks they have what it takes to pick up maximum points.

“Our team is not bad, we are getting better, we have the experience and the targets are very clear, we just need to start getting the results,” Nsimbe told

“It’s going to be a tough game because Express too are to doing well, the win against Police is a big boost for them, but we are also oozing with confidence after picking all three points from For Portal,” he added.

Express have been impressive on the offensive, scoring 10 goals in seven games so far, however, they have looked as fragile in defence, shipping in 12 goals, the highest tally in the division so far.

Express is yet to keep a clean sheet while Kyetume have managed three in five, does that bother head coach George Ssemwogerere?

“Our discipline defensively has been wanting,” Ssemwogerere told this website.

“We need to improve on our concentration, especially a side like Kyetume that loves to create chances and know how to use the ball.” He added.

While he hopes for a better defensive performance, Ssemwogerere should find solace in striker Frank Kalanda who is finding his rhythm in front of goal together with midfielder Dissan Galiwango who is also carrying the goal-scoring responsibility.

The two have managed six goals combined for the six-time champions much as they will need to carry their scoring boots against a Kyetume defense that is marshaled by Johnathan ‘Dante’ Mugabi.
