The odds of Vipers lifting a second Stanbic Uganda Cup title are higher than those of FUFA Big League side Proline FC.
Not that the two sides are playing for the title, they are meeting in the last quarter-final of the tournament on Tuesday at Lugogo.
A game Vipers badly want to win to have another shot at the title after losing it to KCCA FC last.
Proline have nothing to lose, time and again their head coach Shafiq Bisaso has declined his side’s title ambitions.
“We are not desperate to win the Uganda Cup, we just want to give our best in every game, if the title comes, glory is to God,” Bisaso told www.football-256.com before adding.
“The games are supposed to help us fine-tune our team to be in better shape as we try to qualify for the Premier League.”
Proline welcome back forward Ivan Bogere and midfielder Sam Kintu after they missed their last league outing against Dove FC in Masindi. Left-back Hakim Sekitto (Injured) and Joshua Okiror (Just returned to training) will miss the tie.
Vipers will be looking at bounce back from their 2-1 StarTimes Uganda Premier League defeat against Ndejje University at the Arena of Visions in Bombo last week.
To get to this stage, Vipers knocked out Kiboga Young, the lone strike was scored by Abraham Ndugwa at Kitende, Proline saw off Onduparaka 2-1 at Lugogo.
This is the first meeting between the two clubs in this tournament but their last clash was in the league which Vipers won 3-1.
The winner between the two will join Bright Stars, Express and Kyetume FC who already qualified for the semifinals of the tournament.
