Uganda Cranes skipper Denis Onyango’s star with Mamelodi Sundowns just can’t stop shinning, the shot-stopper was in goals when Sundowns won a ninth ABSA Premiership title after their 1-0 over Free State Stars.
The title was Onyango’s sixth and third with Sundowns in a space of four seasons, he won three at his time with Supersport United.
Sundowns came into the game two points above Micho Sredejovic’s Orlando Pirates who were hosting Polokwane City and the former went on to win the tie 3-0.

Sundowns’ game was delayed for 10 minutes after the organisers were overwhelmed with a huge crowd minutes to kick-off.
Sundowns broke the deadlock through Phakamani Mahlambi three minutes to the break and held onto it until the final whistle.
Sundowns finished the season on 59 points, winning 16 of the 30 games, drawing 11 and losing just three, they scored 40 goals and conceded 24

The result meant, Free State Stars together with Ugandan International Martin Kizza will play in the lower division next season.
Allan Kateregga and Maritzburg United were also involved in their relegation battle when they visited Baroka.

Maritzburg found the breakthrough as early as 20th minutes through Fortune Makaringe off a Kateregga corner before Baroka equalised through forward Mduduzi Mdantsane on 64 minutes.
