Rashid Toha: The truth is we are happy

By Football256 Team

Onduparaka captain Rashid Toha says they are happy with the results obtained on Saturday at the Champions Stadium in Mwererwe against Bright Stars in their StarTimes Uganda Premier League seocond round opener.

The lanky defender scored the equalizer in the second half for the Caterpillars after Nelson Senkatuka’s 19th minute opener threatened to put the visitors to where they had belonged.

“The truth is we were happy but not extremely very very happy of the one point we got there,” Toha told

He explained, “We’ve been having a bad run in Mwererwe but it doesn’t mean that after getting the one point, we are over excited, no. We wanted the maximum three points but of course it’s a hard playing ground to get points from.”

Bright Stars home ground has been a destination of no return for the West Nile side ever since their arrival to the top tier in 2016.

Onduparaka’s three visits in the three seasons of playing top flight football have never gifted them with maximum points.

The boys who are under the care of Simeon Masaba will be faced with another giant to stone down in their next fixture at Lugogo on Tuesday.

KCCA who in history have tortured Onduparaka in Lugogo will for the first time face their inferior without Mike Mutebi on the touchline.

However, Toha doesn’t think the absence of Mutebi who is serving a four match ban by FUFA for putting the game in disrepute, is something that will give the Arua boys an advantage.

“No.  I don’t think Mike Mutebi’s absence on the touchline will affect KCCA generally. But of course as a team, we don’t really mind about facing them. We really mind about our team Onduparaka.”

History is fond of repetition in the game of football. Nevertheless the Skipper believes with hard work just as they managed to rewrite the Matugga story, the narrative at Lugogo could change.
