It is on rare occasions that players from the FUFA Big League (FBL) get to be recognized by different award organizers in Uganda.
However, for the December 2022 Fortebet Real Stars Sports Awards, two players from the FBL have been nominated in the football category with a chance to scoop the accolade on Tuesday next week.
Patrick Kaddu and Edison Agondeze of Kitara FC have been shortlisted alongside Vipers SC captain Milton Karisa – the latter plays in the Star Times Uganda Premier League.
Kaddu and Agondeze have been outstanding performers for the FBL table leaders Kitara, especially in December.
They both scored in each of the three games the Hoima-based side played in December.
Agondeze bagged a brace in the 5-1 and 4-0 victories over Luwero United FC and Ndejje University FC respectively while Kaddu scored once in each of those two games.
Kaddu netted a double in a 4-1 win over Kyetume FC whereas Agondeze was on target once.
The above indicates that Agondeze scored five goals in three games in December while Kaddu netted four goals.
The two striking partners have managed a combined 22 goals so far this campaign with Kaddu netting 14 while Agondeze has scored eight – the former is the current leading goal scorer in the FBL.
Meanwhile, Karisa scored two goals and assisted thrice in December, the Uganda Cranes midfielders’ contribution came in Vipers’ 2-1 and 4-0 wins over BUL FC and Onduparaka FC respectively.
Karisa scored once against BUL and Onduparaka and also assisted twice against the latter.
