Looks like the Confederation of African Football will have to find a new host for the 2020 CHAN finals after the withdraw of initial hosts Ethiopia.
Reports from the CECAFA country indicate that Ethiopia withdrew from hosting the competition because they won’t be ready by next year when the tournament is supposed to happen.
A minimum of four stadiums that meet the required international standards are needed to host the 16-team tournament but Ethiopia has only two of those.
The other two that are under construction won’t be ready by January and February when the tournament is supposed to happen according to sources.
The qualifiers of this particular competition are slated to start in July and August, Ugandan will be seeking a fifth straight appearance at the games.
The Cranes will play South Sudan over two legs, the winner will book a date with the winner between Rwanda and Somalia in the final qualifying round.
This is a developing story
