As Uganda Cranes coach Sebastien Desabre plans to trim his squad in camp before the team leaves for Abu Dhabi to continue preparations for the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations, some faces won’t be with the team.
According to reports, StarTimes Uganda Premier League top scorer Juma Balinya is likely to be dropped from the AFCON squad but will join the team preparing for the COSAFA championship under Abdallah Mubiru and Livingstone Mbabazi.
Balinya is not the only one, he is joined by Vipers’ SC skipper Taddeo Lwanga, KCCA FC midfielder Allan Okello and the two goalkeepers, Charles Lukwago and James Alitho.
In total 10 players are likely to be dropped to pave way for another butch that will camp in Abu Dhabi.
The foursome will also join the team preparing for the COSAFA games which departs this week ahead of their quarterfinal opener against Lesotho on May 25th.
Reports further indicated that last minute entry on the team Disan Galiwango is most likely to make the 26-man squad that will camp in the middle east.
If he makes the cut, the Express defender cum midfielder joins a long list of left footed players in the team, they include; Joseph Ochaya, Isaac Muleme, Godfrey Walusimbi, Khalid Aucho and Allan Kateregga
In a media session he had on May 13th at Kabira Country Club Desabre promised to provide the 26 players that will be in the Camp in Abu Dhabi by May 21st.
It’s from the 26-man squad that Desabre will choose the final 23 for the final tournament while the other three will be on standby.
