Following the departure of Vialli Bainomugisha as Blacks Power FC head coach, Peter Onen is linked with the vacant job, Football256 has learnt.
Bainomugisha announced his departure in a statement he released on Monday morning.
“As my time here expires, I would like to thank the Boards of Directors of Blacks Power for the opportunity offered to me to work as head coach for the period that I have been here,” the statement started.
“I am so grateful for the opportunity, experience, and trust earned at this club. Secondly I would like to thank the technical team as a whole for the corporation and teamwork exhibited to achieve the success we have managed to register, thank you so much!”
“Not forgetting the team of players that have been understanding and have worked tirelessly together with me and the technical team so that we achieve our goals especially the promotion to the top tier league of StarTimes Uganda Premier League am grateful for having worked with you,” it noted.
The statement added: “And the fans of Blacks Power FC I am going to miss your fun moments, the love and spirited support towards me and the club I cherish all moments created while at this club.”
“I finally sign out of Blacks Power FC a happy man because of what I and the whole team achieved I thank everyone at the club for the support, love, and trust given to me until the end of my contract. Blacks Power will always remain my family,” the statement end.
Bainomugisha joined Blacks Power in September 2021 and his name will forever stay in the history books of the club given that he guided them to their first-ever promotion to the Uganda Premier League.
The Lira-based side earned their historical UPL promotion as the champions of the 2021/22 FUFA StarTimes Big League.
Bainomugisha is also a former coach for Mbarara City FC, Onduparaka FC, Lweza FC, Water FC, and Kigezi HomeBoyz FC among other teams.
His proposed successor Onen has vast Premier League experience having coached at BUL FC and most recently at Gaddafi FC.
