The Uganda U17 national side is set to travel to Burundi for a buildup game against the Burundi U20 side on Tuesday 15 January 2019. 

This comes after confirmation that the CECAFA U20 tournament which they have been preparing for is likely not to take place.  

Reliable sources which preferred anonymity revealed www.football-256.com that FUFA and the Burundian FA agreed to have the friendly match to keep their teams in shape since the two nations are preparing for continental engagements.  

Uganda is preparing for Total U17 AFCON tournament slated for April 2019 in Tanzania where they will compete with Angola, Nigeria and hosts Tanzania for an U17 World Cup slot.

While Burundi is preparing for the Total 2019 U20 Africa Cup of Nations finals slated for February 2019 and grouped alongside the hosts Niger, Nigeria and South Africa.

The Cubs are expected to travel by road on Friday with twenty players.
