StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Vipers Sports Club are set to name Edward Golola as their head coach a third stint according to Chimp Sports.
When Vipers named Micheal Nam Ouma as interim coach seven days ago to replace Javier Martinez Espinosa, they also revealed that he was appointed in deputy capacity and a head coach would be named very soon.
“Everything has been agreed and he (Edward Golola) will return to Vipers SC as head coach. He will be unveiled either on Sunday or Monday before the next game,” the website quoted a Vipers official on grounds of anonymity.
It’s also believed that Golola wanted to work with his long time trusted right hand man Richard Wasswa but it was ruled that he would work with Nam Ouma.
Golola who is currently coaching at FUFA Big League Kitara FC has won two league titles for Vipers as head coach and one as assistant to Miguel Da Costa.
Golola’s first silverware was in 2010, he repeated the feat in 2015 in his second stint before making it three last season.
Vipers next outing is on Tuesday against Onduparaka in the league before their January 12th, 2018/2019 Total CAF Confederation Cup first leg play off against CS Sfaxien. Both games will be played at Kitende.
