Table leaders BUL Bidco consolidated their grip at the summit of table, after securing yet another hard faught 2-1 victory over Tooro United, at the St. Paul’s Seminary grounds, Fort Portal.

The Jinja based team headed into the game off the back of a massive 3-0 home win over champions KCCA, in Jinja. But against Tooro they faced a side that they had not beaten at home in each of their last four league meetings.

And for the third game in a row, Robert Mukongotya came to the fore for the Jinja based side, scoring an 82nd minute goal to claim all three points for his side.

Strike Partner Musa Esenu earlier pulled the club level in the 64th minute, for his second goal for the club, and in consecutive games.

Yafeesi Mubiru had earlier put the home side into a deserved lead, in the 7th minute of the game. But BUL were lucky to escape with all three points, after Mubiru again missed an 89th minute penalty.

At the final whistle, Mukongotya who was evidently excited after being voted the man of the match for the second consecutive time, said he had his teammates to thank, because the three points mean more to the team than him as an individual.

“We came here with a goal, and am happy that we have achieved exactly what we set out to achieve from the game. We have all worked for the three points as a team, and credit should go to every one, not me as an individual.” Mukongotya told media.

BUL now move four points ahead of second placed SC Villa who dont play until Saturday, while Tooro are 10th on the log, with 10 points from nine games.

Tooro United make the trip to Arua to visit Onduparaka, at the Green Light stadium, While BUL return home to Jinja where they host stumbling Bright Stars at the FUFA Technical center, Njeru.
