Uganda Revenue Authority Football club continued their unbeaten record at the Green Light stadium, Arua after defeating home side Onduparaka FC 2-1 in their Star Times Uganda Premier League game, today afternoon.

The home side headed into the game top of the table, and in fine form after winning their last four league games on the bounce, while their visitors were in murky waters after failing to win in any of their last four league games.

The caterpillars looked to increase their grip on top of the table, and looked determined to as they could have gone ahead in the game with just 10 minutes on the clock.

Ceaser Okhuti broke free down the right, before cutting back to Joel Jangeyambe, the latter picked up skipper Gadafi Wahab, whose shot was parried into the path of Rajab Kakooza, but the midfielder placed his rebound wide of the target.

Five minutes later, Okhuti again beat his marker well, before his pitch perfect cross was well met by Joel, but the youngster’s header was well kept out by goalie James Alitho.

Onduparaka kept up the pressure and on 22 minutes, left back Rashid Okocha picked up a ball in the middle of the pack, before some clever play with Okhuti, but the former’s final ball to Kakooza was poor as URA survived.

With URA holding out the host’s early insurgence, they were presented with a rare sniff at their host’s goal, but forward Joachim Ojera’s header at the back post missed the target by just inches.

Two minutes later, Onduparaka’s worst fears were realized as former Paidha Black Angels striker Cromwell Rwothomio slotted home the opening goal of the game, after a clever pass from Senyonga Mikidadi.

Onduparaka came close to a quick equalizer, but Okocha’s shot missed the target by just in the 35th minute, as the game headed into recess with URA still in front.

URA had Alitho to thank after an advert worthy save in the 47th minute from Vitalis Tabus’s curling effort from the left.

Five minutes after the restart, the visitors increased their advantage as Rwothomio completed his brace with a real poacher’s goal, tapping home Saidi Kyeyune’s low free kick. The tax collectors could have added a third only for defender Richard Ayiko’s glancing header denying Ojera.

Livingstone Mbabazi’s side had a number of close shouts for a goal late on, Bhetto saw his header cleared off the line while Abdu Lukwata saw his cross agonizingly go past the face of the goal with no one there to meet it.

The caterpillars were awarded a late penalty deep inside added time, with Wahab stepping up to slot home but it was too late for them to push for a leveler, as they suffered their first home loss of the season.

Onduparaka fall to second on the log on 15 points, a point off leaders BUL Bidco who inherited top spot after their 3-0 victory over Champions KCCA in Jinja. While URA climb from 13th to ninth on the table with 9 points from seven games.

Onduparaka make the long trip to Kampala to face Champions KCCA on Friday, While URA return home to host Mbarara City at the Mandela national stadium on Friday.
