Vipers SC, on Thursday shockingly parted ways with their head coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho, over unclear circumstances.
The Brazilian was only midway through his three-year contract, but he and the club ended their marriage without a clear idea of who of the two parties initiated the exit.
Despite his short spell at Kitende, Robertinho will go down in the club’s books as one of the most successful coaches in history.

The tactician won two trophies in one year and four months, including the 2020/21 Uganda Cup and the 2021/22 Uganda Premier League title.
As a result of the latter glory, Vipers represented the country in the CAF Champions League, hitting the group stages for the first time.
It was also the second time a Ugandan Club made the feat in the current Champions League format, since KCCA FC.

Robertinho was also named Coach of the Year in his only full season in the country, having won the League with 74 points, 18 ahead of runners-up KCCA.
He was in charge of 57 games for the Venoms, managing 43 victories which represents a huge 75% winning rate, the most by any coach in the country, in that time.

The gaffer had his side suffer defeat just six times, while they were locked in nine stalemates. The team netted a whooping 99 goals, which is also the most by any team in that spell.
At the time of his departure, Vipers were third on the league table with 27 points, only two adrift of leaders KCCA by the end of the First Round.
It comes as a big of disappointment for both the club and Robertinho as the Kitende side is lined to kickstart their Champions League group stage journey in February.
