Samuel Eto’o, the five-time African footballer of the year and former Best Player of the Spanish league asserts that the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup will serve a unique experience for fans and players alike.
With two years to kick-off, this will be the first World Cup to be held in the Middle East, and just the second on the Asian continent.
The global showpiece set to unfold for 28 days, between November 21 and December 18 at eight different stadium venues.
According to Eto’o with exactly two years to the opening game at the 60,000 Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor. It is going to be an unforgettable experience when the World Cup gets under in Qatar.
“I like the people in Qatar, they are open and sincere,” said Eto’o who featured at four World Cup tournaments for Cameroon. “One thing that will make the tournament unique will be the distances between stadiums.”
“The Popular Villaggio Mall site and the Katara Cultural Village, which has many shops and restaurants and the love banana island.”
“A brilliant holiday destination shall be a popular host for fans as well,” the former Chelsea and Everton striker added.
The two-time African champion is also excited about; “the stadiums with the fitted innovation cooling technology will provide a unique experience.”
“Players shall have the chance to use the best facilities so far and the global showpiece shall be spectacular,” Eto’o noted.
The African qualifiers for the tournament will begin next year and nations are busy preparing for it.
