Ugandan midfielder, Ivan Sekazza could make his AFC Leopards debut on Thursday when the struggling Kenyan giants take on Chemelil Sugar in a Kenyan Premier League match at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
The former Express FC midfielder was roped in by Ingwe two weeks ago but was yet to make his debut owing to a delay in the issuing of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
He has now been cleared to play and this will be a major boost for coach Andre Casa Mbungo whose side has been hit by numerous injuries.
Midfielders Tsuma Said, Ezekiel Seda, Marvin Nabwire and new signing David Ochieng are all side-lined leaving the club exposed at the middle of the park.
The club has announced that the Aspire Academy graduate alongside Shami Kibwana who was acquired from KCB have been cleared and are available for selection on Thursday afternoon.
“We are playing Chemilil Sugar FC today at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos. We might witness two potential debuts today for Ivan Sekazza and Shami Kibwana who are available for selection,” read the brief statement.
Leopards will be keen on bouncing back to winning ways after their shocking elimination from the Sportpesa Shield on Sunday by minnows Bungoma Superstars.
