Ugandan goalkeeper Omar Salim Jamal Magoola has joined DSTV Premier Soccer League debutants Richards Bay FC in South Africa.
Jamal is one of the two custodians the club confirmed that have signed with it on Friday for an undisclosed period. The other is Neil Boshoff.
In September 2021, the 27-year-old joined South African second-tier side Pretoria Callies FC following the expiry of his contract with Sudanese outfit Al Hilal Omdurman.
Richards Bay, which is Jamal’s new home, gained its maiden promotion to the top-tier division after winning the 2021/22 National First Division.
Jamail becomes the third Ugandan goalkeeper in the PSL – the others are Dennis Onyango of Mamelodi Sundowns and Ismail Watenga who spent last season on loan at Chippa United from the former.
In Uganda, Jamal played for both Express FC and KCCA before joining Sudanese side Al-Merrikh.
