Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Salim Jamal Magoola is on verge of joining Absa Premiership side Bloemfontein Celtic according to www.soccerladuma.co.za.

The Siwelele are believed to be keen on securing Magoola’s signature in order to replace Patrick Tignyemb whose contract was terminated last month.

“There is interest from Bloemfontein Celtic in Uganda national team goalkeeper Salim Jamal Magoola. The player’s representatives based in South Africa are looking into that,” an unknown source was quoted by Soccer Laduma.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper is currently plying his trade in Sudanese giants Al-Hilal, the side he joined last year from Al-Merrikh SC.

Should Magoola sign for Bloemfontein Celtic, he will join Uganda Cranes skipper Denis Onyango in the Premier Soccer League. The latter is playing for the PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Jamal will also be the third Ugandan goalkeeper to play for the club after Postnet Omony who was with the club from 2005 to 2010 and Benjamin Ochan, who had a stint there in 2010

Magoola is currently with the Cranes ahead of the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
