As they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2021/22 campaign, SC Villa have reportedly signed goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya.
The former Vipers SC custodian has agreed to sign on a two-year employment contract readying him just in time for the StarTimes Premier League kickoff on October 15.
Ssekagya was released by the Venoms at the end of the 2020/21 season after both parties failed to agree on terms of renewal, eventually signing Jack Komakech.
Previously, he has as well featured for UPDF FC which he joined after a spell with the KCCA FC youth side in 2017. He played for Proline FC in 2019 as a loanee from Vipers.
He is the latest member of the Jogoo’s signing spree of major youngsters as they embark on a rebuilding project.
The other twelve additions include; Kenneth Semakula from BUL FC, Isma Mugulusi (Busoga United), Oscar Mawa (KCCA Junior team), and Travis Mutyaba (Vipers Junior Team).
Others are Joseph Kafumbe (KCCA), Gift Fred (Boma Utd), Ali Bayo (Edgars), Charles Bbaale (KJT), Iddi Abdulwahid (Arua Hill Junior team), Joseph Yiga (Tooro United), Umar Lutalo (Aspire Academy) and Marvin Kavuma (NEC F.C).
At the helm, Villa recruited Greek tactician Petros Koukouras to oversee the development but also ensure they compete favourably as well.
