Ugandan international Erisa Ssekisambu was on the score sheet for his new side Gor Mahia in the Kenya Premier League tie played on Wednesday against Zoo Kericho at the Kasarani Stadium.
Ssekisambu came off the bench to score K’Ogalo’s fourth in the 71st minute as the league holders demolished the new comers 4-0
“It’s good to get off the mark,” Ssekisambu told Football 256 before adding. “I am a goal scorer and it’s my target to always help my team win with a goal if given a chance.”
“I am looking forward to more sweet moments like these with my new family because I feel home here and it can only get better,” he added.
Gor Mahia opened the floodgates inside 30 seconds of the first half courtesy of an Ephraim Guikan strike, he grabbed his brace in the 16th minute from 12 yards.
Samuel Onyango thumped home the third in the 39th minute giving K’Ogalo a comfortable lead going into the break.
Zoo Kericho tried to impose themselves but they were never going to be any match for Boniface Olouch in Gor Mahia’s goal.
Olouch also had Ugandan international Shafik Batambuze form a formidable back line as he kept his first clean sheet of the season.
It was Gor Mahia’s first win of the season having lost to Bandari FC 2-1 in their opening game of the season.
The win was timely for the 17 time KPL winners ahead of their Saturday first leg meeting with Lobi Stars of Nigeria in the 2018/2019 Total CAF Champions League first round stage.
