Express FC will be looking for nothing else other than a win, when they host Mbarara City at the Betway Mutesa II Stadium Wankulukuku on Tuesday evening as the hunt for George Ssemwogerere’s maiden home win continues.
The Red Eagles lost 2-0 against Vipers SC at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende in their previous StarTimes Uganda Premier League outing and they are looking at returning to winning ways.
“We have to lift ourselves up from the the defeat against Vipers, we must prove that we are a very competitive side against Mbarara City,” Ssemwogerere told www.football-256.com.
“Mbarara won’t be an easy side to play but we also want to get better with every game we play and we hope to be a better side on Tuesday and also go home with the three points,” he added.
This will be the fourth meeting between the two clubs, Mbarara City have won the two home fixtures while the Red Eagles have also won the home tie last season in the previous three.
Mbarara won 3-1 against The Red Eagles at Kavumba before their Kakyeeka home was cleared by the authorities in the first round of the league.
Express’ Frank Zaga Tumwesigye is back in contention after missing the game against Ndejje University in Bombo due to mild hamstring injury.
Disan Galiwango is also back from suspension while Arthur Kiggundu will be out with hamstring injury. Eric Kambale has just returned to training and won’t be fit for the match.
Mbarara will rely more on the services of Paul Mucureezi and Hillary Mukundane who are on the finest form of the Mbarara based side.
Express have won two, lost two and drawn once in their previous five games while Mbarara have managed two wins, two losses and one draw in the same league streak.
