URA’s Sam Ssimbwa says winning the Pilsner coach of the month of March is motivation to his entire team.

Ssimbwa who beat KCCA FC’s Mike Mutebi and Tooro United’s Wasswa Bossa to the award revealed this after receiving his accolade on Monday morning at Katikati restaurant in Kampala.

“I am happy that I have been voted best coach for the month of March,” Ssimbwa told www football-256.com.

“I thought last month I could have won it but that is up to you to decide, I want to dedicate this award to my sick mum in Butabika Hospital, my assistant coaches and all my players,” Ssimbwa added.

URA picked up seven points from a possible nine in games played in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League games played in the month of March.

They started off the month with 2-0 away win against Paidha before following it up with a 1-1 draw against BUL.

A 1-0 win against Express summed up the month scoring four times and conceding once in the process.

URA who sit third, six points behind second-placed Vipers hope to continue with the good run when they host Bright Stars on Wednesday at Namboole.

In the same vein, Kirinya Jinja SS midfielder Bagoole David was voted the best player for the month of March.

Bagoole replaced favorite Mike Mutyaba on the short list due to the latter’s staunch Muslim faith which through the Quran forbids Muslims from associating with anything Alcohol related.

Bagoole who beat URA’s Cromwell Rwothomiyo and KCCA’s Nicolas Kasozi managed two goals en route to Kirinya’s two wins in three games in March.

Both Ssimbwa and Bagoole walked away with plaques and Shs1M courtesy of the sponsors Pilsner Lager in conjunction with Uganda Premier League.
