Having last won the StarTimes Uganda Premier League title in 2011, URA FC has a chance to take the crown home this time around.

The Tax Collectors have been excellent and lead proceedings with 10 games to go until the end of the season.

URA holds the pole position on 44 points, a point ahead of Vipers SC in second place on 43 points and four above Express FC as the title race continues to rave on.

Speaking to Football256 in an interview, Ssimbwa said their focus this season has always been on getting all three points regardless of who they face.

However, he was quick to note that getting points in the second half of the season was always going to be hard before warning his players about being complacent if they are to go all the way to win the title this season.

“The second half of the season is always tough.” Ssimbwa said before adding; “We should not be complacent because we are table leaders.

“We should concentrate on the remaining games because it is not easy to get points in the second round.”

“But so far,” he noted before describing their recent record of two victories in five games.

“We have done well in the second round. I think we have picked up huge points as far as the title race is concerned that is why we are on top. So let us grind on.”

“We drew with Bright Stars in the first round as well. They are the best performing team in the second round you cannot just come and pick up maximum points against.”

“Villa is a UPL giant irrespective of what is happening currently, so playing against them is always tricky, and I am pleased we got four points off them this season.”

URA will be hoping to maintain the top spot when they host Mbarara City FC on Tuesday, April 27, a side with which they drew one-all on matchday one of the season.

After enduring a tough first round of the season, Mbarara also looks rejuvenated under Charles Livingstone Mbabazi. They are seated ninth on 24 points.

The Ankole Lions have not lost any league game since his return in April winning and drawing three games since.

His only loss came in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 32 against URA when Ssimbwa’s side won 1-0 at Kakyeka Stadium to advance on aggregate following a goalless draw in the first leg.

Coming into Tuesday’s game, the hosts drew 0-0 away to Soltilo Bright Stars FC while the visitors defeated SC Villa 2-1.

UPL top scorer Steven Mukwala should be available for this one after missing the game against Bright Stars through injury.

On the other hand, Mbarara will rely on striker Henry Kitegenyi for goals. He has been on form recently scoring thrice in his last six games for the club.
