BUL FC was ruthless against Booma FC in the Uganda Cup and the former’s head coach Alex Isabirye has noted that experience played a major part.

The Oil Manufacturers visited and thrashed Booma 5-1 in the first leg of the semifinals in Masindi on Tuesday.

“We have grown as far as this tournament is concerned and, that gave us confidence coming into this game, plus, our Uganda Premier League experience,” Isabirye told Football256.

“The opponents ensured that the game was open and we played as a UPL team and outscored them.”

“But, I realized that they are a confident side in their approach despite being a third division team and I am sure they will want to win when they visit us.”

“That means that we should not let this first leg win get into our heads, we have a league game before the Cup return leg so we have to stay focused,” he noted.

Simon Peter Oketch and Ibrahim Kazindula bagged a brace each while Karim Ndugwa was also on target from the spot for the visitors.

On the other hand, the hosts scored their consolation goal through Lenard Matuwa. The return leg will be played at Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe on Thursday 19 with BUL playing as the hosts this time around.

In the other semifinal, it is Vipers SC that holds the advantage having beaten Mbarara City FC 2-1 at Kakyeka on Wednesday. The two sides will meet again for the second leg at Kitende next week on Tuesday.
