Federation of Uganda Football Associations(FUFA) has resolved to have the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup be played over a single leg instead of the usual double-legged affairs.

The competition had been forced to a halt after the government announcing total lockdown due to a surge in the number of Covid-19 cases in May.

However, after partially reopening up, with sports given a go-ahead to operate with strict observance of Covid-19 guidelines, FUFA announced plans to proceed with the remaining games.

The last four draws were conducted, Police taking on Vipers SC and the joint record holders Express FC paired against BUL with games initially meant for August.

They would later be postponed to unidentified dates after complaints from clubs over lack of enough preparation time.

The Football governing body has therefore decided the last four ties will happen between Tuesday 21st(Police vs Vipers) and Wednesday 22nd September 2021 at the Njeru Technical Center.

The winner from either tie will play the final at the same venue on 26th September, wrapping up the 2021 edition.

Express, together with KCCA FC are the record holders with 10 trophies. Big league outfit Proline FC are the defending champions having won it in 2019.

In 2020, the competition was not held due to the effects of the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
