AFCON 2021: Super Eagles to face Pharaohs, Cameroon grouped with Burkina Faso

Nigeria has been drawn in Group D of the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be hosted by Cameroon in 2022.

The draw which took place in Yaounde on Tuesday evening saw the three times African Champions drawn with the most successful team in the competition, the Pharaohs of Egypt in Group D.

The two African giants were drawn alongside Sudan and Guinea Bissau. 

Meanwhile, hosts Cameroon will face 2013 AFCON runners up Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, and Cape Verde.

Group C comprises Senegal, Zimbabwe, Guinea, and Malawi, while Group E houses defending champions, Algeria, Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea, and Cote d’Ivoire. 

Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania, and Gambia have been drawn in Group F.

Group A: Cameroon, Ethiopia, Cape Verde, Burkina Faso

Group B: Malawi, Zimbabwe, Guinea, Senegal

Group C: Comoros Islands,Gabon, Ghana, Morocco

Group D: Sudan, Guinea Bissau, Egypt, Nigeria

Group E: Equatorial Guinea, Sierra Leone, Cote d’Ivoire, Algeria

Group F: Gambia, Mauritania, Mali, Tunisia
