The StarTimes Uganda Premier League Pilsner Monthly Awards returned and it is BUL FC that scooped both the October Player and Coach of the Month Awards.
BUL’s forward Richard Wandyaka was named the Player of the Month while head coach Alex Isabirye was crowned the Coach of the Month.
The oil manufacturers had a brilliant start to the season putting up outstanding performances in October and they are the SUPL table leaders with 14 points.
Isabirye’s charges played five games in October, winning thrice 5-0, 3-1, and 1-0 against Blacks Power FC, UPDF FC, and SC Villa respectively.
The remaining two games ended in a 1-1 draw against each of URA FC and Gaddafi Modern FC.
Wandyaka scored four goals and managed two assists in October and he is currently the joint top scorer with teammate Karim Ndugwa and Express FC’s Allan Kayiwa.
His goals came in BUL’s wins over Blacks Power, UPDF, and Villa, Wandyaka bagged a brace against the former and a goal apiece against the Army side and the Jogoos.
Wandyaka shrugged off competition from teammate Ndugwa and Maroons FC’s Fred Amaku to win the player of the month award.
Meanwhile, Isabirye beat Villa’s Jackson Magera and Maroons’ Muhammad Ssenfuka to the award.
Wandyaka and Isabirye walked away with a plaque and one million shillings each at the awarding ceremony held at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo on Wednesday evening.
