Six games into the 2022/23 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season and KCCA FC striker Tshisungu Simon Kankonde is yet to score.
It is a worrying situation, but head coach Morley Byekwaso admits but insists that the Congolese forward will find the scoring touch with time.
“Foreigners tend to struggle especially during the first season for example Cesar Manzoki had a tough maiden season but later he picked up and became so important to Vipers SC.”
“Kankonde is a bit facing a similar challenge here with us but we want him to acclimatize because he is a very good player without any doubt.”
“His knowledge of the game is good and he is helping the team in one way or another but we know his main role is to score and the goals will soon start to come,” Byekwaso noted.
Kankonde assisted Muhamed Senoga’s goal as KCCA won their first game away from home 1-0 against UPDF FC at Bombo Military Barracks Grounds on Wednesday.
However, the majority of the KCCA faithful are beginning to lose trust in the club’s new signing calling for the coach to try out the other options the team has.
The Kasasiro Boys are placed third on the 15-team SUPL log with 12 points and will host URA FC in their next game on Saturday, November 19th.
