KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso has acknowledged that URA FC will pose a big threat to his side when the two sides meet in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Saturday.

A look at the previous seven meetings between KCCA and URA sees the latter dominant in this fixture having won five times compared to the former’s one win and a draw.

“We know how hard our opponents are, they are one of the contenders in this league,” Byekwaso said in his pre-match interview with the club media.

“It will require us to come all out to play well, entertain, and win the game. I know it won’t be easy because when you compare head-to-head they have better off.”

“We need to be very good in transition to attack and defend well because they have good players and coaches.”

“But if we stick to our principles and know what we want I think we shall win the game,” he added.

Last season, each team beat another 1-0 while playing at home. Ahead of Saturday’s bout, it is worth noting that several players will be facing their former clubs from both camps.

KCCA has defender Brian Majwega and striker Daniel Isiagi who have previously featured for URA.

Jackson Nunda, Eric Ssenjobe, and Derrick Nsibambi once played for KCCA and now play for URA.

“For those players who once played for us and find themselves playing for URA now, we are well aware of their qualities and we have already analyzed that.”

“But we are more focused on what we can offer as a team because at the end of the day all we want is to earn the three points,” Byekwaso noted.

Two positions and three points separate the two teams on the 15-team SUPL log with KCCA placed sixth with 12 points while URA is positioned eighth with nine points.

The Kasasiro Boys are coming into this game having edged UPDF FC 1-0 in their last outing while the Tax Collectors defeated Arua Hill SC by the same scoreline.

Byekwaso won’t be with defender cum midfielder Dennis Iguma who is suspended having received a red card in KCCA’s last game against UPDF.

Muhammad Shaban continues to be sidelined with an injury while the likes of Brian Aheebwa and Julius Poloto are expected to be involved in the game on Saturday.

On the other hand, Sam Timbe will welcome back strikers Nsibambi and George Ssenkaaba.
