KCCA FC are boosted by the return of star marksman Muhammad Shaban ahead of their visit to archrivals SC Villa in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Shaban who only returned to Lugogo at the start of the ongoing season for his second stint with the Kasasiro Boys has been struggling with injury.
But ahead of KCCA’s long trip to Lira to play Villa at Akiii-Bua Stadium on Friday, he was named in the 21-man travelling squad.
The former Onduparaka FC forward was last involved with the 13-time SUPL champions when he came on as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 victory over Vipers SC on matchday three.
Head coach Morley Byekwaso will be hoping that Shaban returns with his scoring boots given that the KCCA strikers have continued to struggle in front of goal.
The Kasasiro Boys come into Friday’s encounter having failed to win their last game when they drew 1-1 with URA FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Saturday last week.
On the other hand, the Jogoos were 1-0 victors away to Arua Hill SC at the Barifa Stadium in Arua.
The two rivals are separated by a single point on the 15-team SUPL log with Villa occupying the fourth position with 14 points after eight games while with 13 points, KCCA is placed sixth after seven games.
When the two sides met last season, both games ended in a stalemate, 1-1 when Villa hosted and 0-0 with KCCA at home.
This Kampala Derby will be played in Lira because SC Villa will be hosting their next five home games at Akibua due to the suspension from Muteesa Stadium, Wankulukuku because of their fans’ hooliganism.
There will be another derby on the same day when BUL FC host Busoga United FC in the Eastern Derby or Jinja Derby which will be played at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
