SC Villa will have to work tooth and nail if they are to avenge last season’s Soltilo Bright Stars dominance in the Startimes Uganda Premier League.
The Kavumba-based side registered two victories home and away after a 1-0 and 2-1 wins hence dominating the record champions.
However, SC Villa’s head coach Jackson Magera is confident that his charges will put up a good show desirable to the task at hand.
“We have prepared the boys to come and out-compete our opponent with intent,” Magera told Football256 shortly after the team’s last training.
“We lost twice against Bright Stars last season, but am sure it will be a different story this time round. They are a tough opponent but I am confident we shall emerge victors,” he added.
“The team is in a good shape and the ambience is buzzing. We have had a successful week of training and the boys are positively responding well to our tactics.”
“We can not afford to find ourselves in the same place. We have talked about the mistakes that cost us last season and we shall try as much as possible to avoid all of them,” he concluded.
SC Villa will come to this fixture seeking their first win on the road while Bright Stars are winless across the ongoing campaign having drawn all their five outings.
The two sides are separated by five points, Villa is at 10 points in second place while Bright Stars are 10th with five points.
Though Villa is without Martin Elungat who has so far kept four clean sheets in the last five games, the custodian suffered a neck injury in the game against Express.
Rogers Kiwanuka is still a long absentee due to a muscle injury while Umar Lutalo and Muhammed Nsereko are with the Hippos.
Ivan Sserubiri and Meddie Kibirige return to the fray after recovering from a knock and Sand Cranes’ engagement respectively.
