SC Villa will seek to return to winning ways in a clash where they face defending champions, Vipers SC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at Kitende on Tuesday.

The Jogoo come into this game bouncing off a three-nil loss against bitter rivals KCCA FC in a game that was played behind closed doors at the Aki Bua Stadium in Lira.

Villa vice captain Gift Fred is confident that they cannot afford to lose two consecutive games.

“Having lost our previous game against KCCA, we cannot afford to lose twice in a row,” Gift said ahead of the clash against the Venoms.

“As a team, this game means much to us and we are going to throw everything to them so that we get the best result,” he added.

However, the lanky defender highlighted the big load of work ahead of them.

“They are a big team with good players and coaches but we are equipped and ready since we represent a team with a rich history.”

“As players, we know what we want so we are doing all it takes to rectify the mistakes done in the previous game. We can not afford to lament anymore but rather pick ourselves up,” he concluded.

Villa will be boosted by the availability of goalkeeper Martin Elungat who has fully recovered from the neck injury he suffered in a game against Busoga United.

However, on the other side they will miss the services of Hamza Mulambuzi and Nicholas Senono who are sidelined due to injuries.

Villa is sixth on the log with 14 points, three places below Vipers who have 17 points after playing eight games in the ongoing campaign.
