Vipers SC return at home to take on West Nile powerhouse Arua Hill SC, for their sixth Uganda Premier League match this season, on Tuesday at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Vipers will be seek a second win on the bounce for only the first time this season, following their 1-0 victory over Blacks Power FC last time out.
It hasn’t been all rosy for the Venoms who have already dropped seven points this campaign, and deputy captain Siraje Ssentamu is optimistic they will put up a run of great results.
“Luckily enough, we won the game (against Blacks Power), as we were trying to get to the winning ways,” he was quoted by the Vipers website.
“The place we are in now (eighth) is not where we are supposed to be so, we’re fighting to get our number one spot back. One step at ago, we’re trying to win every game that comes our way.”
The two have only met twice with tomorrow’s visits in the topflight in history, and have shared a victory apiece.
Following Arua Hill’s 1-0 win at the Barifa Stadium season, the Venoms beat them 3-1 at Kitende, thanks to Cesar Manzoki, Milton Karisa, and Yunus Sentamu.
The club has confirmed that Bright Anukani will return and is available for selection after an injury layoff, much to head coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho’s pleasure.
“He’s a key player and we have indeed missed him for the last games, but now he’s back and he’s an important player for us.”
“He’s a really good player, been with us for a long time and we’ll see what happens because it’s also an important game tomorrow.”
Among the absentees are Paul Mucureezi and winger Abdu Lumala, who will continue to nurse respective injuries. It’s not certain if Olivier Osomba will be back in time for selection, having missed the Blacks Power game.
