During his post-match interview with the media, KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso could not accept that his team lost its first game of the season.
The ‘Kasasiro Boys were edged 1-0 by URA FC at the Arena of Vision in Ndejje in Uganda Premier League on Saturday. Steven Mukwala scored the only goal of the game in the 37th minute.
“I would like to start by appreciating the players for the character and effort they put up to try and see that the club wins,” Byekwaso said before adding.
“Unfortunately, we did not win, but we did what we could. Maybe it was not just our day because we created a lot of chances than the hosts who scored from their few created.”
“I think we deserved to win, but that is football. I know we are still strong, and we shall continue working hard to see that we remain on the top,” he added.
The 13-time UPL champions had two goals controversially ruled out for offside, one from Sadat Anaku and another from Roger Mato.
Despite tasting their maiden defeat of the season, the Lugogo based side remained top of the 16 team log with 31 points, one point above Vipers SC, who drew one-all with BUL FC on the same day.
