SC Villa has a crunchy tie at FUFA Technical Center Njeru against UPDF FC as they are optimistic to get back to winning ways reflecting a hot and cold season so far.

The Jogoo had registered the two consecutive draws against Arua Hill FC and KCCA FC and two victories at struggling Busoga United and Tooro United before losing 1-0 to Bright Stars the last time out.

Having had it tough at Kavumba Recreation Ground, Villa can hope to get three points at home ahead of their penultimate fixture of the first round and will be hugely counting on Abdallah Salim who has been putting in a shift with some goals.

Petros Koukouras, who has a largely young squad at his disposal, will be demanding a win against the Army side to take their tally from 16 to 19 points and move from their current 10th position on the 16 team log.

They have a perfect chance to leapfrog their visitors, who are on 18 in ninth place as the first round of the season concludes.

Without a doubt, UPDF will not be an easy nut to crack on the day factoring they have a better head to head edging Villa with three wins and a loss in their past four meetings.

Last season, UPDF came out top in this fixture when they took all the available six points over the record UPL champions so a huge task awaits the welfare- rejuvenated Villa side.

However, the Bombo Military Grounds based side have not won in their last five league games, they lost four plus a draw, and therefore they will also want to bury their recent poor run of results.
