SC Villa head coach Jackson Magera has asked the Jogoo faithful to be patient and support the building process taking place at the club.
After six games in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, the record champions are second on the log with 13 points one behind table leaders BUL FC.
A situation that has forced a section of fans to start asking for the trophy. However, Magera differs, noting Villa is a side trying to put several pieces together to assemble a strong team.
“We are still far from where we want to be,” Magera said after their win against Bright Stars before adding; “The team is still growing, most of the players are new and it will take some time to perfectly match.”
“Our team has a lot of young players who are still adapting to the game and becoming strong to compete. However we want to build as we compete,” he strongly noted.
SC Villa managed to register their maiden win away from home after beating Soltilo Bright Stars 1-0 in a game termed ‘tough’ by Magera.
“It was a tough game. Bright Stars are never easy to play at home. But I would love to thank my fellow coaches and the players for the hard work exhibited.”
“The players followed the game plan to the dot. We managed the game well and were a very disciplined side. We need to keep that spirit if we are to achieve more,” he added.
SC Villa will return to action on Friday November 11 as they host Wakiso Giants at Kabaka Muteesa (II) Stadium Wankulukuku.
