Midfielder Moses Waiswa scored his first goal in the KCCA FC colours in their 3-0 victory over rivals SC Villa in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at Akii-Bua Memorial Stadium in Lira on Friday.
Waiswa joined the Kasasiro Boys at the start of the ongoing campaign as a free agent from South African outfit SuperSport United FC.
The 25-year-old netted his goal at the stroke of halftime when his well-taken free-kick found the back of the net in the 38th minute.
The Kasasiro Boys scored their other two goals through Muhamad Ssenoga Kagawa and Gift Fred’s own goal in the 32nd and third minute respectively.
Following the Kampala Derby victory, the 13-time SUPL champions climbed to the third position on the 15-team log with 16 points after eight outings.
The SUPL record holders on the other hand dropped from fourth to sixth with 14 points after nine games.
Morley Byekwaso’s coached team will return home to host Gaddafi Modern FC on Tuesday, November 29th while Jackson Magera’s charges will visit Vipers SC on the same day.
BUL FC came out on top of the other Derby (Jinja Derby) played on the same day at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru courtesy of a 2-0 win.
The Oil Manufacturers earned their goals in the second half through Karim Ndugwa and Ibrahim Mugulusi in the 65th and 71st minutes.
