Wakiso Giants head coach John Ayala Luyinda has urged his players to improve their conversion rate after a 1-0 victory against UPDF FC at Bombo on Tuesday.

With two victories in four games played, Luyinda believes they can still do better and take away most of the created chances upfront.

“We need to convert more of the chances being created upfront,” Luyinda said shortly after the narrow win against UPDF FC.

“We are still a work in progress, the fact that we create chances means we are somewhere. However, we shall find a way to get sharper,” he added.

Moses Aliro got the game’s most important statistic, giving the Purple Sharks a 24th minute goal which they held onto until the final whistle.

It was back-to-back wins for the lads in purple and white. This comes shortly after a 2-1 victory against drowning Blacks Power FC.

“I give credit to the players for the hard work put up. I am glad that we shall go back with a win. The way we exhibited ourselves to register this performance showed how much we needed the win.”

“The boys put in all that was needed, they played on instructions and am happy we picked a win,” he concluded.

Wakiso Giants started with a 3-2 loss against KCCA before they were held by Maroons in a barren draw.

The victory sends them to the fourth position with seven points after four games played.

Wakiso Giants will return to action on Tuesday November 1 as they host URA FC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
