After his side climaxing the first round of the season with a one-all draw with Bright Stars, Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa is keen on making better plans during the break for the second round.

The Red Eagles have not made the best of their StarTimes Uganda Premier League title defence, despite ending the first round in third position with 27 points.

Bbosa’s side has won seven of their opening 15 games of the season, and while they are at the moment four points behind league leaders KCCA FC, the gap could go up to 10 points should they win their remaining two games.

The situation should have looked better had they seen out the victory against Bright Stars, but the draw at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku did not provide the climax Express had hoped for.

George Ssenkaaba was on target to give Express the lead before Denis Kaka Omony equalized for the visitors late in the game to stun the champions.

While speaking to the media after the game, Bbosa highlighted that they wanted all points but managed one and the focus now shifts to planning for the second round.

“We have managed a point although that was not the plan, three points was our earlier target, but we shall go with that.”

“We shall go back to the drawing board and use the break to plan better and be organized because we want to close the gap on the table leaders,” Bbosa noted.

In the same vain, captain Enoch Walusimbi who was facing his former side noted that they will need the break to reorganize themselves and bounce back a better team for the final round of the season.

“We managed a point today. It was a tough game. Bright Stars gave us a real challenge, so we shall take the point, and we intend to use the break to correct our mistakes,” Walusimbi told the media.

The Red Eagles will return to action on February 5 with a home tie against UPDF FC.
