In a space of 48 hours KCCA FC were knocked out of the 2018/2019 Total CAF Confederation Cup by AS Otoho and the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
On Sunday KCCA FC lost 3-2 on aggregate to AS Otoho as their continental season came to an end, on Tuesday Tooro United ended their dreams of completing a three peat in the Uganda Cup.
Tooro United who came from a goal down to level matters as full time ended one all forcing spot kicks and eventually triumphing 3-1.
“My players are on the same level with those of KCCA FC, therefore I’m not surprised that they have managed to eliminate the Cup holders,” Tooro United coach Wasswa Bossa told www.football-256.com.
“We are ready for anyone at the next stage, we are taking it one game at a time, and we believe we can go far in this competition,” Bossa added.

The first half saw both teams go for a break with nothing to show as all teams had a shoddy display. Most of the action was seen in the second half as the Cup holders drew the first blood in the 51st minute.
Patrick Kaddu capitalized on Mike Kawooya’s short back pass to his custodian Joel Mutakubwa. Mutakubwa delayed to meet the ball, that’s when Kaddu met it in transit to chip it into the net.
The home side tightened the grip and in the 77th minute their efforts paid off when diminutive silky forward Allan Kayiwa tapped in a Simon Sserunkuma well curled free kick to level matters for the home side.
Normal time wasn’t enough to separate the two sides but spot kicks. Timothy Awany was the first to face a well composed Mutakubwa, the KCCA skipper ballooned his effort over the bar.
Muzamir Mutyaba converted before Hassan Musana and Allan Okello were stopped by the hero of the day Mutakubwa.
All Tooro United players in Willy Kavuma, Kawooya and Isaac Mubiru converted their kicks to send their team to the round of 16.
KCCA manager Mike Mutebi conceded defeat turning focus on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

“We are out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup and the only option we have now is the StarTimes Uganda Premier league,” Mutebi told this website.
KCCA FC paid the same price when they eliminated Tooro United (then playing as Soana) from the 2018 Stanbic Uganda Cup on spot kicks in Kavumba.
The tie had ended two after normal time before the 10 time winners advanced 4-3 after spot kicks.
