Tanzania: Balinya promises goals at Yanga SC

Ugandan international forward Juma Balinya on Saturday completed his move to Tanzanian giants Yanga Africans on a two years contract from Ugandan side Police FC.

Upon arrival, the former Lweza and Vipers SC player promised to pay back his new bosses with goals as he was also officially unveiled to the club and handed Jersey number 9.

“I feel happy to be here in Tanzania”, Balinya said at a function that was live on Azam TV.

“It is a very big honour to play for Yanga African and I promise to pay back my bosses with goals and better performances.”

Balinya who was part of the Uganda Cranes team that took part on the 2019 COSAFA tournament in Durban, South Africa emerged as leading scorer in last season’s Star Times Uganda Premier League with 19 goals.

“It’s a new challenge for me and I know I have to work extra hard not to let myself, the fans and my employers down,” Balinya later told www.football-256.com.

Yanga that was founded on 11th February 1935 finished the previous Tanzanian Vodacom Premier League in 2nd place seven points behind champions and rivals Simba SC.

With 27 titles, Yanga are the record winners of the Tanzania Premier League, they have won four Tanzania FA Cup and five CECAFA Kagame Cup
