The last time Onduparaka had an impressive run in the Stanbic Uganda Premier League was in 2015. Then, together with Proline, the West Nile outfit were playing Big League but had gained promotion to the top flight alongside Kirinya Jinja SSS.
Proline and Onduparaka meet at the round of 16 of the tournament on Sunday at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo with the latter’s skipper Rashid Toha insists they must advance to the next round.
“It’s about teamwork not personal glory so we should all look at victory as a team. We want to advance as a team,” Toha told www.fotoball-256.com.
Proline will be playing at home, on a ground that is very tough to visit, that’s the artificial turf of the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
Not that Onduparaka don’t know how to pick points there, they have managed to register wins against Proline and Police at Lugogo.
And just recently, league leaders KCCA FC had to grind a 1-0 result against a team they have defeated 7-0 and 4-1 at the ground.
Proline coach Shafik Bisaso has a point to prove not only to his bosses but many football critics who have time and again said he wasn’t meant to coach football at this level.
“That was said, but this is not about Bisaso, as Proline we must focus and get a good result, a good result is winning and advancing to the next stage and we have a strong chance,” Bisaso said.
