During the August 2022 transfer window, Derrick Nsibambi joined URA FC with expectations high that he would fill the vacuum left by Steven Mukwala who had left for Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko.
However, the Uganda Cranes forward has not performed to the expectations of many registering only one big moment for the struggling Tax Collectors.
This was when he came on as a second-half substitute and scored with his first touch under 60 seconds in the one all draw with his former club KCCA FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
That was one of the two goals he scored for URA in the first round of the current season the other was against Busoga United FC in a 4-0 victory.
The length and nature of his contract were never disclosed and the two parties mutually ended their marriage in the 2023 January transfer window.
Nsibambi has now joined Albashaer Club of Oman while URA will be hoping to recruit a new striker to add to George Ssenkaaba and Ibrahim Dada as they hope to revive their season in the second round.
Sam Timbe’s charges endured a poor first round collecting only 14 points from 14 games in the 11th position on the 15-team Uganda Premier League log.
They will commence their second round away to Onduparaka FC at AbaBet Greenlight Stadium, Arua on February 11th.
